The Willow Cottage
The goal of the New Cottage is to provide a maximum level of environmental comfort for the occupants with low energy use. Warm air in winter and cool night air in summer is directed under the floor and into the house for ventilation and to assist heating and cooling . An airlock entrance and solar annex with a heat exchanger assists in heating the cottage. Thermal storage is provided by the 4" slab under the 4 " deep wood floors. Future plans include a roof garden and protective landscaping.
